We as the South Durban Community Environmental Alliance (SDCEA) are hosting a Global Day of Action with a march beginning at Botha Gardens. We will be raising awareness about the Climate Crisis and the need to move away from Fossil Fuels. The residents of Durban are taking action to raise awareness about the impact on the poor and marginalized, as well as the rush to drill for oil and gas in our beautiful Indian Ocean. The increased awareness is the result of global action against fossil fuels. We are concerned about our government’s decision to allow this exploration, which has the potential to destroy our tourism industry, recreational opportunities and marine life. Our awareness is about the ongoing struggle for environmental justice for the poor and marginalized people who continue to suffer from these blatant atrocities and will suffer from ill health once these corporations begin drilling. We want YOU to join us and fight for a better tomorrow.
